The world seems to want to show us that love is a noun.
It’s a thing.
We seek it.
We desire it.
We dream of it.
Fantasise about it.
Valentine’s Day it.
In Hollywood, it’s often romanticised, set to great music, glorious sunsets, and happy ever after.
And many people will spend their entire lives chasing after that notion, only for it to constantly elude them.
So, when we learn that love is a verb, the world shifts on its axis.
Suddenly, we are no longer the seeker, we are what we seek.
We are the source.
Love is something we do, or even something we are.
Like Gandhi supposedly said, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”
Be the love you wish to find in the world.
It sounds cliched and contrived, until you try it.
When you go out into the world with the heartfelt intention of being love and giving love, the world you experience is mirrored back to you.
Your interactions are better, your experiences are more joyful, opportunities and doors open up for you.
In much the same way as if you went out feeling grumpy, angry, and frustrated, you would meet a world that reflected that back to you.
Whatever we give out comes back to us.
Choose love.
Be love.
Give love.
And you will find love everywhere.
As Todd Rundgren sings in his anthem, Love Is The Answer, “Light of the world, shine on me. LOVE is the answer. Shine on us all, set us free. LOVE is the answer.”
